About this place
Up a steep flight of stairs off a side street in Higashi-Oimachi, Shinagawa Ward, Okinawa Soba Yuima-ru is an Okinawan izakaya that turns on its lights from 9:00 p.m. into the late hours. Centered around counter seating, the welcoming space draws patrons dropping in after work, seeking a late drink, or looking to round off an evening out.
The house mainstay is soki soba, topped with tenderly braised pork spare ribs. Combining dashi-rich broth with hearty noodles, it offers a satisfying bowl whether as a full meal or a post-drinks finish, served alongside classic Okinawa soba and spicy taco rice.
Beyond the noodle bowls, the roster of small side dishes is another key draw. The kitchen turns out straightforward bites including chewy, fragrant jimami peanut tofu, popping umi budo sea grapes, soy-marinated mimigar pork ears, and otsumami pork. Pairing regional staples like se-ika somen cuttlefish strips or salted sukugarasu with bottled Orion beer, a Watta sour, or awamori makes for an exceptional late-night drink.
Though intimate in scale, the interior maintains a warm ambiance where solo guests can unwind comfortably. Staying open until 4:00 a.m., it serves as a dependable stop in the Oimachi area when you want hot soup and a drink deep into the night.
